Running in aid of Nepal

em setembro 22, 2015
Hello everyone,
Me and Viktor have run the Dublin Half Marathon last Saturday in aid of the Nepalese village of Goli that suffered greatly in the April earthquake. Please donate and help a worthy cause!

Viktor was in Nepal when the earthquake happened and he had this to say about his experience:

“Hello guys,
Some of you know I was in Nepal when the devastating earthquake happened there on April 25. I am now collecting money to help rebuild the Nepalese village of Goli – one of the remote villages in the Himalaya mountains that was badly damaged in the quake.
Any donations would be really appreciated!

I just want to say that the earthquake was the scariest experience of all my life and it was also a very sad experience because I saw the extreme misery of the Nepalese people.

Nepal is one of the world’s poorest countries, they’ve no proper emergency services and everyone was pretty much left to fend for themselves. I saw people crying their eyes out because their loved ones got hurt or killed or because they had no idea what happened to their relatives in remote villages. I saw people sleeping on carpets in the middle of busy roads because they were afraid to go back to their homes – or because they had no homes to go back to… Aftershocks were felt every few hours and everyone was in the state of absolute terror.
I got out two days after the earthquake and I’m fine, but trust me, the people back in Nepal aren’t so lucky and they need all the help they can get.

All the money raised will be handed over to Irish mountaineer Ian Taylor (via this site) who is heading back to Nepal to help rebuild the Sherpa village of Goli.

Ian was my guide when I was climbing Island Peak in the Himalaya in April, I can totally vouch for him and have absolute confidence that 100% of the money will go directly to the Nepalese people, who are some of the kindest and friendliest people in the world.

So please donate – doesn’t matter how much – and feel free to ask me if you’ve any questions.
Thanks for reading!
Viktor”
If you want to make a donation, there is a donations box at the reception at SEDA or you can contact me.
